I want to go to college because I know that without a degree I would get nowhere in my life. I want to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering; I have dreamed of working as a marine surveyor since I was eleven. There are many reasons why I want to earn a degree in mechanical engineering. One of the reasons I want to become a marine surveyor, marine surveying is my dream job; another reason is that as a child I always found it fascinating to create and inspect things. As a child, because of my interest in inspecting and making things, earning a degree in mechanical engineering was a perfect fit for me. I would be the first person in my family to go to college. College is my opportunity to make something of myself, move forward, and be happy with knowledge. Also, I want to be a role model for my younger brother, so that he can understand that a college education is important. My mother plays a big role in my choice of wanting to go to college. I want to go to college so I can be proud of myself; to build a stable foundation, to achieve my goal of graduating, and to prepare for the world. Going to college isn't just about getting an education, for me it's about being able to reach a level of learning where I can make something of myself and be proud of it. People say they want to go to college because they just want a high-paying job, but that really means nothing. Going to college to obtain a high level of education puts you in a position for success. I myself would love to attend college to reach those lofty heights I call my goals. I would like my colleagues and teachers to remember me as I am today. I like to believe I'm a good guy... middle of the road... the world is getting more and more challenging so by going to college I'm preparing myself for tough challenges. A college education will open more doors. We gain some of our understanding from work experience, but college is the real structure and without that education, the chance of getting a good job would be slim. I want to go to university because it will also guarantee me a good job in my dream field for a while. College will also increase my chances of getting a high-paying job. College would also improve my social skills and help me be a better communicator. In conclusion, a college education will prepare me for a more stable and successful life. I would be proud of my accomplishments that the college has to offer. Going to college will give me a better chance of achieving my goals. These are some of the reasons why I want to go to college.
