In my shadowing, I noticed that when it came to larger tasks, the organizational chart was used to direct the task and information. However, for smaller scale things, the org chart didn't really matter. I agree with this to some extent. If you always use the organizational chart, your followers may feel helpless. I believe not using it in smaller situations is a good move to keep followers accountable and comfortable with their work. I would recommend not sticking to an organizational chart, but as previously stated, it makes managing and managing larger tasks much easier and faster.
