Process Analysis EssayOne of the strongest symbols associated with Halloween, are vampires. From one of the most popular costumes to the basis of some of the best horror films, vampires fully embrace Halloween. The ideas and perceptions that most people know about vampires, they learned from films or literature, especially from Bram Stoker and Anne Rice. The problem is that authors sometimes embellish the truth to make the story more interesting. Therefore, the issue is not just that vampires exist, but also, if they do, how folklore has misrepresented them. I studied early myths about how vampires appeared in folklore and how their identity changed over the centuries. Additionally, I have been researching modern vampires to see how literature has altered these modern vampires from their ancestors. Thanks to my research, I believe vampires existed, but not in the overly embellished way of literature. The most widely regarded myth about the origin of vampires concerns Lilith, Adam's first wife, and Cain, the son of Adam and Eve who killed his brother Abel. Lilith, according to Hebrew/Hebrew texts, was the first wife created for Adam. So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth (Gen 1:27-28 KJV). As you can see, there is a specific reference to two human beings, one male and one female, present at this time, but what Christians believe to be the creation of Eve does not appear until much later in Genesis. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed the flesh in its place; And with the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man, he made a woman and brought her to the man. And Adam said, This [is] now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was made of Man. (Gen 2:21-23 KJV). Many believe that Lilith, who was created the same way as Adam, would not have submitted to Adam's rule.
