Once the police were called, there were visible bloodstains on his bed and pillows. No trace of his killer has been found. It wasn't until a year later that his skull was found in what was known as the Bundy Cemetery. Following her disappearance, other women were also found missing. Of those nearly one hundred women were Georgeann Hawkins, Janice Ott, Denise Naslund and Brenda Ball. Each of his victims had similar characteristics. They had partings in the middle, dark hair and were all very intelligent. By the time the remains of these victims were found, it was too late to identify any fingerprints or things that would help link them to Bundy. Bundy killed women in Washington, Colorado, Utah, Oregon, Florida, Idaho and Vermont. One of his victims was lucky and managed to escape. Eighteen-year-old Carol DaRonch was approached by Bundy in November '74 pretending to be a police officer. Bundy told her that his car had been broken into and that she should go with him to file a report at the police station. DaRonch immediately realized he was moving away from the station. He then stopped the car, pointed a gun at Carol and tried to handcuff her. He slipped and cuffed both wrist cuffs. Carol immediately thinks of kicking Bundy and walking to another car. He was safe but that same night Bundy managed to trap another victim. Carol's escape to help managed to provide the police with some sort of evidence as to who the attacker was. He still had the handcuffs on his wrist and recovered smudged fingerprints from them. Carol was able to give them a description of the man and his car. Days later he discovered that his coat had blood on it and took it back to the station and found that the blood was type O. This evidence would later match that of Ted Bundy and would be used to link him to this crime. The victim Bundy attacked the same night as DaRonch was Debby Kent. He was in high school
