The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has a zombie apocalypse-based emergency response and awareness page to help inform people how they should be ready if a serious emergency were to occur. The CDC has a wide range of research and information, from heart disease to the most infectious disease-causing agents. The CDC also shares information on how to prepare and what to do if a bioterrorism attack or pandemic were to occur. The Centers for Disease Control and Control is a diverse government organization with the primary purpose of protecting the public from the serious threats of bioterrorism and dangerous pandemics. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention conducts studies to gain information about the health and well-being of the public population. Some of these studies include simple censuses that ask people about pre-existing conditions, height, weight, age, family history and health. They also try to see how certain diseases affect a person's body and how they can be addressed. For example, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention would conduct studies on people of different age groups and family histories who already suffer from heart disease. They then look to see whether the cause of heart disease in different age groups is influenced by particular factors. They found that the risk of heart disease increases if a person has a genetic history of heart disease caused by hypercholesterolemia and ingestion of high-fat foods, little exercise, and ingestion of harmful products such as alcohol or tobacco.
