Anyone can wire a doorbell if they follow these steps and safety precautions. Modern doorbells use transformers to provide power to the circuit. You can wire a doorbell if you use safety precautions, follow the instructions and the proper materials with which to wire it. Take safety precautions by using the correct tools that include screwdrivers, wire strippers, electrical contact cleaner, fine sandpaper, rubbing alcohol, and a cotton ball or old toothbrush, even if doorbells don't draw much voltage. Safety first, always check if the breaker is in the tripped position, if it is, try resetting it and check the buttons to see if the doorbell will ring, if not turn off the power to the doorbell and disconnect the hot and neutral wires from the transformer of the doorbell leaves the wires hanging so they don't touch anything and turns the circuit back on.
