However, to attract audiences to buddy movies there needs to be some sort of cooperation between the two people, which leads to bonding. "Get Hard" depicts how a wealthy and successful Caucasian male enlists the help of an African-American car wash, automatically assuming that the African-American male was an ex-convict, thus illustrating racist stereotypes about African-American males. What makes this part of the film comical is how James bluntly asks Darnell to help him prepare for prison. As human beings we know that racism is a very sensitive topic, given its origins in America. So the fact that James was so helpful to Darnell is hilarious because by analyzing the interaction between these two characters, James unknowingly rejected the sensitive part that comes from racism and looks at Darnell as some sort of instructor. At the end of the film, it is shown that two individuals of different races can cooperate and work with each other and develop a good relationship. The characters manage to put aside their differences and work together to achieve a common goal, thus learning that they are more similar than each other
