Jules Verne was an author ahead of his time. He had many great successes as an author throughout his life. He wrote about adventure, technology and the future. It was as if he was able to predict things that would eventually be invented in the future (Famous Authors). Jules Verne was a very successful author who wrote about many futuristic things. Jules Verne was an adventurer whose writing seemed to be a little ahead of its time. He was born in 1828 and raised in Nantes, France. Jules was the eldest of four children and had good parents. He and his family lived in a port city, so Jules spent a lot of time looking at ships while growing up. Watching them made him want to travel and explore. As a boy he attended boarding school and it was then that he began writing poetry and short stories. When Jules grew up, he went to Paris, France to start college (Famous Authors). Jules attended law school because his father wanted him to follow in his footsteps. Jules had gone to make his father happy, but he didn't seem very interested in studying law. Not long after attending school, he stopped studying law and decided to start writing plays. Jules was more interested in theater than law, which led him to begin his career as an author. In 1857, Jules married a widow and they later had only one child (The UnMuseum). Jules enjoyed adventure and enjoyed sailing. Jules worked in the stock market, but in his free time he simply enjoyed traveling and writing. He and his wife had a ship on which they spent a lot of time, creating new adventures (famous authors).
