My family has a tradition of drawing names every year around Christmas. Every year we have a specific day and time when we meet and choose names for the gifts. This has been a tradition in our family for many years. Because of the brevity of what our family did, it has been passed down for many generations. The cultural side of our family is that we are a Pentecostal church. My grandparents and their parents before them were raised to be Pentecostal. Everyone in our family, for many generations, has been under Pentecostal service. Don't get me wrong, we all serve the same God, but it's just a different way of serving Him. Pentecostal has been a part of my life in every sense I was born. My mother always kept me in church. Every day I complain about going to church and why it was so important to go. As I grew up it became very clear to me that being Pentecostal or any other type of region meant being close to God. It was a safe haven for too many and it was important to know how much we were loved by God. Having His holy spirit was really the only way to get eternal life.
