Topic > Examples of Gender Discrimination in India - 1090

I realized that women can compete with men in all aspects. In India I worked for Amazon in my company. I have a colleague Swapna as she is a woman and comes from a rural background. Every employee in the office thought that she couldn't succeed in her working life because she was a woman. But one day at the conference everyone gave a demo of a project, unfortunately no one was selected. But the Swapna project was selected for its industriousness and capabilities. I was shocked and realized that anyone whether woman or man will be successful if they have knowledge. I think women can do wonders if they get equal opportunities with men. The dowry system still continues in India. Due to the dowry system, the infant death rate increases because the poor cannot afford the dowry for the groom's family. So, by eradicating gender discrimination, India can achieve development and the economic position of the country will also increase. By giving equal opportunities to women, unemployment and poverty rates decrease. I hope that in a shorter period India will reduce gender discrimination by implementing new laws for women. Parents are also aware of child marriage and dowry system so that society develops in these backward countries
