Topic > Lady Macbeth - 1105

Individuals all over the world believe that a man's success lies in the hands of the woman tied to his life mainly in the form of a wife. And there is the saying “behind every successful man there is a woman”. In the play Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, the protagonist Macbeth rose to power as King of Scotland and then suffered a disastrous collapse due to the outside influence of other characters and forces. His wife Lady Macbeth is solely responsible for Macbeth's determination and rise to power, which torturously led to his deadly behavior in his hard work to take and maintain control of the throne in Scotland. Lady Macbeth is responsible in three ways; giving false hopes to her husband of becoming king, feeling that her husband is lucky to be king, also indirectly led to Macbeth's murderous behavior based on his inability which he developed towards the end of his life. In addition to Lady Macbeth's ambition to plot to take the throne, she also gave Macbeth false hope that their plan would succeed without fault if it was completed correctly. Furthermore, Lady Macbeth essentially forced Macbeth into direct involvement. After Lady Macbeth had actually persuaded Macbeth by insulting his manhood, she continued to explain and gave him false hope that they would succeed. More specifically, as stated: “Do we fail? But gather your courage to the critical point, and we will not fail... what cannot you and I perform upon the defenseless Duncan?" (Shakespeare 1.7.60-71). Thus, Lady Macbeth successfully gave Macbeth a false hope before the realization of their plot that they would succeed without problems. For example, he actually said with confidence that they would not fail, and explaining that... in the middle of the card... that he would become King, Lady's greed. Macbeth overwhelmed her, like a strong wave from a tsunami. Furthermore, Macbeth did not want to do anything in the first place and significantly lacked ambition, and therefore, it was his idea and its execution that led him to actually kill. King Duncan first. Once forced to kill Duncan, Macbeth was left to rule and had to kill a few others to try to keep his place as crown. So when Lady Macbeth began to fall ill, Macbeth was left to fend for himself. Therefore, it was Lady Macbeth's rise and fall from power over Macbeth that indirectly led to his rise and fall from power in Scotland. Therefore, Macbeth never had any control over his own destiny.
