Stressful things happened that led to twists and turns within it. The story is told by men looking back, growing up in the same neighborhood as the Lisbon girls, their lives forever changed by their fierce and embarrassing obsession with the five young sisters: Therese, Mary, Bonnie, Lux and Cecilia. The men noticed this and fell very much in love with the sisters when Cecilia attempted suicide. She was the first sister to attempt suicide among all the sisters in Lisbon. She cut her wrists with her father's razor blade and lay down in a bathtub full of water...she lay down in the bathtub full of water so that the blood would come out faster.
