The core value of community has really helped my transition to be as painless as possible. This value is defined by saying that Saint Leo University's goal is to help develop hospitable Christians. They achieve this by helping students feel at home with the spirit of belonging, unity and interdependence based on mutual trust and respect to create socially responsible environments that challenge us all to listen, learn, change and serve. Since Leo is like my home for me, the transition from my real home to here was practically painless. I feel confident and comfortable as if I had a second family. Responsible management was another great value that played an important role in my first semester here. I never really understood how lucky I was at home. I always had hot water and all the supplies I needed on hand. While in school my eyes were opened to become a responsible administrator. Now I take faster showers because I know that if I take a long shower the next person who showers will take an ice bath and I won't print every single thing, but only what is actually necessary since I have to buy paper for my printer . I am grateful to have learned to be a responsible steward in this way
