Ayn Rand AnthemAyn Rand's anthem shows us her vision of our world united under what appears to be communist rule. For example their view of right and wrong; what Anthem depicts is a system of very strict rules that primarily ensure that everyone is involved in a collective role within society. In this system no one is considered an individual or who can even think like an individual. From the day Equality 7 -2521 they were united as one and were considered monsters, because they were all about six feet tall and despised by other groups within society. After school, Equality 7-2521 were sent to the "Sweepers' House" and there they were assigned a certain section of the city to keep clean. They were probably named street cleaners because they were abnormally tall, which says a lot about society's views on discrimination. There is a very strict rule about individualism that is enforced the hard way. If anyone says the forbidden word EGO or any individualistic vocabulary they would have their tongue cut out, so that they could not tell anyone the word and at that time they were sentenced to death and then they were burned at the stake. Saying the forbidden word is the only crime punishable by death in society. Another rule is that if anyone thinks or acts individually they will be sent to the Detention House, where they will be beaten and locked up for a long period of time. The rule was very important...
