This movie features Ferris Bueller, a smart high school student who feels like he doesn't want to go to school when he wakes up, so he decides to pretend to be sick to trick his parents into letting him stay at home from school. His parents are kind, caring, naive people who would never imagine that their son would lie to them, and therefore believe in his horribly sick acting. He convinces his girlfriend, Sloan Peterson, to leave school by calling her to falsely report that her grandmother was dead. He also convinces his friend Cameron, who is really sick, to accompany him and Sloan for a day in the city of Chicago before they all go to different universities. Two people who have no doubt that Ferris' story is false are his sister and Ed Rooney, principal of his school. The gang takes Cameron's father's car and goes to a baseball game, visits the Sears Tower, the Art Institute of Chicago, and a parade where Ferris jumps on a parade float and lip-syncs to a song that is playing and no one recognizes it or cares about it.
